Description
Spank the right foot and step it down crossed behind the left. Then flap the left foot (where a back essence has a plain step) and step back onto the right. That's a back essence with its middle step turned into a flap, five sounds in all. The weight ends on the right, so the next one starts with a left spank.

Practice Tips
- Pick up the left foot while the right is crossing behind, so it's already in the air and ready to brush for the flap.
- Keep the cross behind small and close to the standing foot, so the weight can shift quickly into the flap.
