Description
A four-sound drill done with both feet on the floor: drop the toe of one foot, then the other, then drop the heel of the first foot, then the other. Each foot only rocks between toe and heel, so neither foot steps away. Repeating it lets the feet inch along the floor, which is where the nickname "crawl" comes from.

Practice Tips
- Wait until the first toe has landed before you lift the second one; otherwise the second toe comes in early and the rhythm smears.
- Aim for four equal sounds - the second toe and second heel carry the accent in the syllabus count, so make sure they aren't swallowed.
