Description

A shuffle followed straight away by a flap on the same foot: brush forward, spank back, brush forward again, then step down onto that foot. Four sounds, and the final step moves the weight onto the working foot.

Practice Tips

  • Finish the shuffle with the foot a little behind you. That leaves room for the brush of the flap to swing forward.
  • Try it both as even sixteenths (e&a1) and as eighths (&1&2), which the syllabus also allows, to control the spacing.
