Description

Stamp, step, then finish with a spank step (back flap) on the foot that is free after the step. Four sounds, with a weight change on the stamp and on both steps; you end with your weight on the foot that did the spank step. The syllabus plays it either evenly (1 & 2 &) or packed into a single beat (1 e & a).

Practice Tips

  • At speed, don't let a gap open between the stamp and the step - keep the stepping foot low instead of lifting it high before it lands.
  • Keep the foot flexed on the spank so it catches the floor cleanly instead of scraping.
