Description
Push off into the air and land so the ball of one foot touches down a hair before the other. Instead of the single clean sound of a regular jump, the two landings make a flam on one count.
Breakdown
- Jump
- Land (flam)
Count (one cell per sound · counts vary by teacher)
Land (first foot, grace)1
Land (second foot)1
Practice Tips
- Hold the foot that should land second a little higher in the air than the other one.
- Keep the gap tiny; if the landings drift apart, it stops sounding like a flam and becomes two separate steps.
